Emer Barry has an honours degree in Music and Italian and holds a Masters in Music Performance from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. She spent a year in London studying with English National Opera and has also participated in masterclasses with the National Opera Studio in London.

A dynamic and experienced singer, Emer has performed operatic roles with Opera Ireland, Lismore Opera and Glasthule Opera and has performed internationally with classical crossover group Affiniti, an award winning trio of harp (Aisling Ennis), violin (Mary McCague) and soprano (Emer Barry). The group has completed sold out tours of Washington State, Idaho, Oregon and Tricites from 2014 to 2018 and is set to tour the USA again in December 2019. They have been described by The Boston Globe as ‘full of soul, sass and sophistication as well as exquisite technique’.
Most recently Emer toured the USA with Columbia Artists Management in March 2019.

Emer is a regular guest at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and is in demand as a concert soloist. Notable engagements include Soloist with the RTE Concert Orchestra in association with RTE Lyric fm in May 2019, Tour of North America with Songs of Ireland March 2019 and Soloist with the Army Band at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby in the Curragh 2016. She is delighted to be invited to headline a performance at the prestigious Boyle Arts Festival in July 2019.

In 2014 she was chosen as the voice of Disney’s ad campaign singing a song written by renowned Irish composer Liam Lawton. She is also a featured soloist on Liam Lawtons album ‘Catholic Irish Classics’

Emer’s show ‘Happy Birthday Audrey Hepburn’ where Emer played the title role was performed in the National Concert Hall and Castletown House in May 2019 to Sold Out crowds. The show is set to tour Ireland later this year.
