Official Biography

While there are many proud moments in her career, such as singing the Kyrie in Faure’s Requiem under conductor Barry Wordsworth with The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden Opera House, performing a specially written piece for her majesty in Westminster Abbey ranks as one of the highest. The piece, titled ‘Stronger As One’ was commissioned for the Commonwealth in her majesty’s Jubilee year. A more recent performance at the Abbey saw Laura perform Handel’s ‘Let The Bright Seraphim’ for her Majesty and Duke of Edinburgh, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. A regular at Royal occasions, in the summer of 2016 Laura proudly performed a special version of the National Anthem for her Majesty’s 90th birthday, on Pall Mall with the entire Royal Family watching.

A familiar face at worldwide sporting events, Laura is proud to be the England Rugby team’s first ever official anthem singer, performing at the men’s and women’s rugby matches at Twickenham Stadium. Laura is a regular at the NFL Series in London, and has performed at the Rugby World Cup, Rugby League matches, The Carnegie Challenge Cup Final, WSB Boxing, The Carling Cup Final, The Championship Play-off Final and the FA Cup Final. In April 2016 she performed at The Grand National to a rapturous reception and later in the year, she was the official anthem singer at the British Grand Prix.

During 2015 Laura was a familiar face during the Rugby World Cup, and enjoyed several performances for England Rugby, World Rugby and the winning team New Zealand. 2017 sees Laura performing once again at the Six Nations for the fourth consecutive year, as well as being asked to perform at the NBA UK series, taking place at the o2.

After a dramatic Red Arrows flypast, Laura was the first to perform at the opening ceremony for HRH Prince Harry’s inaugural Invictus Games in 2014, where she debuted her self penned song “Invincible”, taken from her album Sound Of Strength. Laura’s show stopping performance resulted in the mezzo-soprano being the talk of the concert and gracing the front page of the Daily Telegraph the following day. Prince Harry asked her to repeat the performance at the second Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida. Laura’s performance, part of the opening ceremony, was broadcast live across America on ESPN and was screened on the BBC the following day. The successful Opening Ceremony made the homepage of the Daily Mail, with Laura prominently featured. Laura’s music was heard throughout the ceremony, written with John Haywood, the duo composed the entire music for the opening ceremony including the entry music for HRH Prince Harry, FLOTUS Michelle Obama and Actor Morgan Freeman.
