This June 13th the Classical Brit Awards will return to the Royal Albert Hall. After a five year absence, the celebration will include performances from crossover favorites such as Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins and will be hosted by Myleene Klass and Alexander Armstrong.
This time the awards will feature a special recognition to up-and-coming artists. The results will be announced at the Brit awards based on the “Sound of Classical” poll. The poll featured many talented (and also Indie!) artists we have featured. Special congrats to Katie Marshall, Classical Reflection, Jonathan Antoine and Christina Johnston!
Among the 5 artists shortlisted for the award, there is included the lovely and talented Carly Paoli. Carly’s debut album “Singing my Dreams” reached No.2 on the classical charts and we were lucky enough to feature her on the cover of our Spring-Summer 2017 issue. Recently, Carly also signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
“I had to pinch myself when I found out that I was nominated for a Brit Award,” she says. “I’ve been thanking the Lord ever since I received this incredible and completely joyous news. Since I was a little girl, I dreamt about singing and sharing my music with an audience. Now that my dreams have come true, I hope other young people can be inspired to follow theirs. I am so excited, so grateful and so thrilled by this prestigious nomination.”
Good luck Carly, we are rooting for you!
