The Wedding of the Summer deserves a crossover soundtrack

When megastar and music badass Taylor Swift began dating NFL Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce, it sparked a major crossover between music and football fandoms. Taylor, in the midst of the best-selling tour of all time, was flying back and forth between sold-out arenas to games. It may not happen often, but their whirlwind romance made it seem that sometimes, you can indeed do it all.

The couple became engaged in 2025, and now the news is full of rumors of proposed locations and celebrities lucky enough to get an invite to their wedding. We’re not in the business of chasing down personal stories about artists, but it is clear that whatever details are shared will influence trends in the Swifie fandom and the broader wedding industry.

For those planning a wedding in 2026, top trends include. “Experience over imitation.  Couples are moving away from cookie-cutter celebrations and toward weddings that feel deeply personal and intentional. The most memorable weddings aren’t solely defined by trends any longer; they are defined by personal, meaningful moments, thoughtful guest experiences, and details that authentically reflect the couple’s story. It’s the idea of a Collective Celebration, involving the guest more in the overall experience through an event journey that builds over the evening vs a single moment, enhances this approach as well.” Daniella Giglio of Ella Cole Group shared with us.

Of course, what’s also needed is a perfect soundtrack, and here crossover takes center stage. Classical renditions of popular music create an atmosphere of elegance while still showcasing the couple’s personality. Reimagined tunes, everything from Jurassic World to The Lord of the Rings, are hits on social media.

As someone who loves music in all its forms, I love seeing classical interpretations of modern songs become part of the wedding experience in such a mainstream way.  A string quartet or an orchestra brings sophistication and emotion to familiar music while remaining approachable and contemporary. It’s the perfect blend of timeless elegance and personal connection. When guests recognize a song they love performed in an unexpected way, it creates a moment that feels elevated, memorable, and deeply personal. Daniella Giglio (Ella Cole Group)

Just in time for the summer wedding season, the Dallas String Quartet (DSQ) is releasing A String Quartet Tribute to Taylor Swift. Featuring lush string arrangements of fan favorites, from the romantic “Lover” and “Enchanted” to her latest “Life of a Showgirl” release, these songs will serve as the perfect mood music from planning through to the big day.

What makes Taylor’s music so special?  Ion Zanca, founder of DSQ, shared:  “Taylor has a way of writing songs that makes listeners feel as though they were written just for them. Her songwriting captures real-life experiences with honesty, detail, and unforgettable melodies that translate beautifully to the string quartet.”
