Internationally acclaimed 7 string guitarist, singer, songwriter “The Commander In Chief” makes her return to the music scene with the poignant question; “How Cheap Will You Sell Your Soul?” with the release of her 1st single, from her upcoming album(s). The vocals and acoustic rhythm guitars were recorded live and, as usual, there has been no use of auto-tune, whatsoever, on the vocals. The electric guitars were recorded in the Cotswolds, England, in May/June 2018. With this release, The CIC also makes her debut as a producer.
This single marks her transition into a 3rd music genre; a mix of pop-rock and acoustic music. While her previous releases have focused on extremely challenging and technical guitar playing, the new music is all about feel and the melody. In this song, she introduces the electric guitar slowly, gradually building throughout the song. The new music also showcases a new, emotional side of her very unique voice.
After her successful transition from Heavy Metal to Classical Crossover in 2013, with her classical crossover album charting at number 1 on Amazon.com, she wanted to go personal with her new music. While her lyrics in the past were aimed at criticising society; corporations, politicians on all sides; and whatever upset her in this world, she has turned her attention inwards this time; focusing on issues most of us can relate to, on a deeply personal level.
With more than 30 songs already recorded and 10 more in the works, she plans to release several albums in the near future, with the first one scheduled for a fall release, this year.
“How Cheap Will You Sell Your Soul?” marks The CIC’s return to the music world, after an 18 months absence, due to complications after a parasite infection in November 2016.
The title and release date for the first album will be announced soon.
