Sophie Clarke Releases new single “A Dream is a wish your heart makes”

15 May 2021 (London, UK) – Sophie has released “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” from Disney’s 1950 Classic, Cinderella, featuring orchestrations by Matteo Ressa. This is her second single which will form part of her anticipated debut album, out later in 2021.

The release of “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” follows Sophie’s debut single “The Rose” which has just been published onto its first playlist by Crossover Records and has been aired on various radio stations including Amazing Radio in the USA and BBC Radio Merseyside in the UK. The original by Bette Midler featured in the 1979 film of the same title.

In addition to releasing music, the 22-year-old Mezzo-Soprano, Actor and Dancer from Liverpool continues to perform in various venues around the UK with solo performances for the 2021 Miss England Final at the Heart of England Centre in Coventry and for the Greenwich Heritage Trust at Charlton House in London in line for next month. Since the age of nine Sophie has performed in numerous charity concerts and events every year, most prominently for The British Heart Foundation, and she is looking forward to performing in various concerts for different charitable organisations over the coming months. She is also currently working on original material with Liverpool Composer Hannah Keeley which will be released later this year.

Since the age of fifteen, Sophie has been a regular busker in her hometown of Liverpool and London to help raise funds firstly for her performing arts training and then for her Masters Degree. Sophie is now delighted to have been offered a scholarship to study at the Royal Northern College of Music for a Masters of Music in Classical Singing and Opera. The Liverpool born Mezzo-Soprano decided to record “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” to mark this achievement as she aims to encourage and inspire other people to be proactive in pursuing their dreams. The piece was written by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston and it featured in the 1950 Disney film Cinderella, which was voiced by Ilene Woods. Sophie’s recording of this beautiful ballad, with orchestrations by Matteo Ressa, highlights the young singers’ captivatingly classic voice and allows the listener to feel as though they are stepping back in time to the Golden Age of Hollywood. Her next single “Born Free” which originally featured in the 1966 movie of the same title will be released on the 23rd May 2021 and is available for pre-order/pre-save now.

In 2022, Natasha was included on the charity album “Stars of Classical Crossover: Christmas” in benefit of the Wallace & Gromit Children’s Charity.
