Crossover Round-up

This month has been an exciting time for classical crossover with multiple full-length releases dropping. So if you have been in a rut with your playlists, check out this list for some inspiration on new music to add:

Georgi Mottram: Glimmer

The title well suits Giorgi’s creamy soprano voice and the magic she brings to this special group of songs. The arrangements are modern, both polished and intimate. It is truly a stunning debut and deserves a spot in every crossover fans collection.

Matteo Bocelli: Matteo

Being the son of Andrea Bocelli doubtlessly brings with it blessings and dreaded comparisons and not without reason. There are moments when listeners can’t help but notice the similarities in tone between Matteo and his father (especially in the lyrics Italian passages), but he has chosen a decidedly more pop direction. Still, this first release has many of songs that will appeal to crossover fans.

We were very excited to facilitate the very first musical collaboration between these crossover stars (watch here!) and since then the pair have recorded “Ave Maria Pietas” for Ellen’s ‘A Christmas Wish’ album and now are back with a new original piece. “The Hope of Us” is an heartachingly beautiful ballad about keeping love alive.
